Pink Sketch #15, winner of my Paper RAK and a new challenge site.

This week, Jana Patterson, fellow Pink Sketch girl, contributed this week's sketch! Jana is an amazing scrapper with so much to show and tell with her layouts and projects! She's of the many talents who inspire me! So do visit her site if you have the time to get inspired!

It's another amazing multi-photo LO over at Pink Sketches! So do take time and come play with us over at Pink Sketches!! Check out the rest of the Pink DT's works as well. Simply amazing!!

I had real fun doing this sketch as it helped me scrap a series of photos taken at a beach outing sometime ago.
My take:

I hope you liked my take on this one. Again, I went buttons-happy with this LO!

Journalling: A day of fun @ East Coast Parkway. Mommy bought a sandcastle set for you to play with. I enjoyed seeing you, having a fun time!! Daren @ 33 months.

Description: This Sketch was great for the many pictures taken at the beach sometime back. I played with distress ink at the bottom of the cardstock followed by sprinkling some water to give that vintage faded effect to represent the "sandy" part of the LO. Looked more like sand after the rain!!

Supplies: LUXE Capris and Flip-Flop paper line, K.I Memories Pop Culture laced cardstock, Cloud9 Design Beach Cardstock Stickers, Junkitz Alpha Stickers, SEI Brad, parcel string and my own stash of buttons.
Do submit your layout to kelli11181984@mac.com to be placed in the gallery over at Pink Sketches yah??

Do check out MemoriesRecorded!!

Let me share with you the 'birth' of this site.

You see, I'm an active member of the SingaporeMotherHood (SMH) forum, a local forum for local Singaporean Moms to hang out, exchange information as well as to have sprees for items that's to be value for money, basically it's catered for moms (1st timers, 2nd timers or old-timers).

And since a small group of us got introduced to scrapbooking 2 years back (that's when I got introduced to this really mad-cap and addictive hobby!!). And just last year, a scrapbooking club thread was formed for fellow, like-minded, mommy scrappers to gather together and exchange scrapping information and ideas. Nothing big like the scrapping forums around the USA or some local scrapping forums in Singapore. But something that's good enough for the small number of scrapping moms in SMH.

Recently, a group of us were "Scrapless" and were over-stashed with the kits we had grouped together to subscribe to from some of the yummy kit clubs. (Like aren't we all in the same boat everywhere around the world?? LOL!)

I was chatting with this talented lady, Dorcas, who also frequents the SMH SB Club thread and she was sharing how scrapless she was as she's been busy with her #1 and now tired out with her 2nd pregnancy. So I just casually suggested to her why not in this case think up of some challenges - use up stash related or themed related for the moms in the SB thread? Something simple and achievable for everyone and we get to use up our stash!

And what I love about Dorcas is that she just ran with the idea enthusiastically and within the hour of our conversation, she's set up the site!!

So MomentsRecorded is set up by scrapless moms for fellow scrapless moms who need some "start-up" for scrap mojo as well as for those who feels to shy to submit their work amongst the seasoned scrappers (not my words, its theirs).

I know that we have a few of such similar challenge sites all around the scrapbooking world and I myself do personally participate in some of them and do talk about them in my blog right here. This is not by any means to be a competition to other challenge sites.

So anyway, if you feel that the challenge suits your needs in any way, feel free to scrap away with us! For me, I'm just a humble contributor, coz Dorcas felt the need to include me as I gave her the idea to run with. =) Thanks Dorcas!
Have a great scrappy week everyone!!
Love,
Sophia
