Laughter...

Does good like Medicine.
I had fun doing Pink Sketches #8! Hop on over to the site and get some scrapping inspiration and fun too!!
I hope you'll like my take on the Sketch #8! =)

Journalling is one of my favourite verses from the bible:

Then our mouth was filled with laughter & our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations,"The Lord has done great things for them." - Psalms 126: 2

Supplies: Papers are lovingly provided for by MemoirActs with papers they had brought in from FancyPantsDesigns. The range of PP from Fancy Pants used on this LO : Free Spirit, Dapper and Clair de Lune. Embellishments are from my own stash: AC Vinyl Thickers, BG Dark Choc Chip, Prima Flowers and Say it in Crystals. And last but no least, Ranger Stickles!!!

As I was sorting and going through my photos to scrap this Sketch, I was really drawn to the happy laughing faces in the photos from the photoshoot we went for sometime in August.

And

My boy and darling husband was down with stomach flu this week, with my boy being worst hit with lots of diarrhea. It's been tiring and emotionally draining to see him so miserable and listless and there's nothing really I could do and at the same time my husband had to be away in Hong Kong for work (it's a good thing for him and us).

I just had to take some time to focus on the happy laughing faces in the photos and then the word Laughter just came to my mind... and remembered this phrase "Laughter does good like medicine" I just had to to look through the written Word and look up my favourite verses that has laughter in it (with the help of google as well) - thus Psalms 126:2

I just focused on the Lord's goodness in our family thus far and how good and faithful He had been to Dave and myself as well as to our little boy. I cast my cares and worries to my Heavenly Father over this stomach flu episode and I just knew in my heart that everything will be alright!

Despite that my boy was tossing and turning around in bed and irritating me in my sleep-consciousness, he was back to his usual self this Sunday morning! Praise the Lord! He didn't have the runs this morning and even now as I blogged.

Right now, I'm just a contented panda-eyed mom blogging away! LOL!

Thanks for dropping by! Hope to hear how has your week been!!

What have I been Up to the past week?

Busy catching up with my work which was seriously back-logged after Daren's HFMD episode.

Had to rush to finish up the Teacher's Day gifts for Daren's playgroup teachers. They got it a day late after teacher's day, but am glad it was done and given and they were happy to recieve the little gifts.

Did a class project for MemoirActs.

I took longer than usual to complete Pink Sketches #4, not that it was diffucult, I had a heavy week but managed to submit the layout to Kelli. I had fun completing the LO! I thought it was really great how I could do up a LO capturing Daren's various facial expressions, the charming-all-smiles, hearty chuckles and pucker-up looks! Photos was taken by a local photo studio.

Anyway, here's my take for Pink Sketches #4:

{Boyish Charm}

(Click on picture for bigger view)

Description: This sketch was perfect to capture the various photos and looks that we love of our boy from a recent studio photoshoot. I got my husband involved in the journalling process and had him journal along the curvy lines from the left page to the right to creat a flow and connect the pages.

The journalling also allowed each individual page to be seen a single layout as well. Journalling: (Left Page) It's the 1000 watts smile, smiles that radiates charm. You will always warm our hearts with that (Right Page) hearty chuckle. It tells you are not just having fun, but you are secure in our love for you. Love Daddy & Mummy. P.S.: Although you do sometimes charm your way out of trouble. Especially with Daddy. Which works 99% of the time

Supplies List: DCWV Cardstock, October Afternoon Patterned Papers, Making Memories Noteworthy patterned paper, Prima Marketing Voila! die cut art strips, Alphas using American Crafts Thickers, Stickers using Three Bugs In a Rug's Chit Chat Cardstock Stickers and DCWV's "Boy" Quote Sticker Stack.

Below are a "group" shot of the altered clipboards I made for Daren's playgroup teachers. I bought separate magnetic backings and glued them unto the back of the clipboards so that voila! They become magnetic clipboards.

Also, completed my tin album for MemoirActs' Tin Album II workshop which I'll be conducting. Some sneak peeks to share:

Wishing you all a great week ahead!! Don't forget to hop on by Pink Sketches and play along with us for Sketch #4!

Hello July!!

It's been a good month in June and now Hello July!!!

I just received my Scarlet Lime June Kit over the weekend and wow! I'm bowled over and drooling over what I see in the kit. Can't wait to get started on doing up some LOs using the kit. I got started with one of D's backdated photos done up by a pro-photographer. It's a picture of him in his angel wings - photoshoot session done in Nov'06 with some other mummies I got to know from a local mummies' forum. Yes, that's a really long time ago where he was just 10 months old and now, he's turning 30 months!!

I enjoyed scrapping during the past month , participating in the various challenges organized by the various scrap-sites, coz it really helped me to use my my stash! Despite having gone through my PP and other stashes, I realize what a hoarder I've been...I actually have more than enough materials to last me till end of the year and maybe even beyond!!

So do forgive me if you secretly think that it's unacceptable that I've been scrapping with "past season's" PP. LOL!!

I'm not too sure how many of us scrappers are like that. We buy the PP that we-heart at the point of time in our LSS, just only to keep it for a few months to admire while finally, made the decision to use them up by finding suitable 'owners' for them a.k.a the right photos.

Anyway.

July is a truly special month for me.

Reason being:

1) My cousin is getting married on the 5th of July which was also the date that Dave and I officially started dating in 2002.

2) My bday is in July (won't disclose here which day)

3) Dave and I tied the knot on 24th July 2004.

4) I'll be coordinating 2 church weddings in July as well for my home church.

5) I'll be participating in SHAPE run this year...gonna try for 5km

What a beautifully white July it will be for me this year!

LO for MemoirActs' S.A.M Challenge

{Celebration of friendship}
This is for MemoirActs' 1st year celebration at SingaporeArtsMuseum. I've been working closely with the wonderful ladies for the past 1 year, since the birth of MA. The past one year had been a tremendous journey for me, I've learnt and grown along the way, having had my capabilities being stretched along the way which contributed to my growth as a person.
I don't just want to celebrate the 1 year mark, but I want to celebrate the friendship I have with Cheng and Angie. What really bonds us was our passion for scrapbooking, of wanting to preserve the beautiful memories of our own individual family unit, of wanting to learn and pick up new techniques together to enhance our LOs. As we grow together as working partners, so
did our LOs.
The beauty of SB is that it transcends beyond the fact that despite each of us being so different, from different walks of life, we are bonded nonetheless by this one passion : the very act of making our own memoirs of our family and love ones via SB. Thus, that was how MemoirActs came about.
(Click on pictures for clearer view)
For this LO, I used: BG's Scarlet Letter PP as the main background (old stash but perfect for this picture), corrugated craft paper (red and black), Teresa Collins Journal It PP, Prima Die Cut Strips and 7Gs Theme stickers.
