Another Layout

Just had to do this layout 2 nights ago!

I received my boy's pre-school performance photos on Monday (it's a graduation ceremony for those in Kindy 2 class of 2008)

He looked so adorable (grouchy actually, but still cute!)

Title: School Dance

Journalling:

I love the owl stamp on the punched-out scallop circle! I pierced some holes on the scalloped edges to give it some "feel" to it.

I used my LUXE Cocktail Dress Strips pattern paper as the background, Fancy Pants Daily Grind patterned paper and K.I Memories Sheer Delights. I'm amazed at how the Luxe Cocktail range was able to compliment the photos! (They are from my Luxe Carrie kit, btw).

============================================

You know, I've been scrapping a fair bit and making Christmas Cards but it seems that my paper stashes are never ending!!!

I'm a horrible horrible paper hoarder!!!

I've stopped buying excessive hoardes of patterned papers since July this year as I get them in the kits which I subscribe to (Scarlet Lime and LabelTulip), unless there are some that appeals to me but not found in my kits.

I've been digging out those papers that looks perfect for the Christmas cards but not something I normally use in my LOs.

So after some layouts this week and 11 Christmas cards later, I thought my mountain of stash would be a hill or something.... but NO...it still stayed as a mountain.

Arrrrggghhh!

I's a good problem I'm having.

And this means I should be spending less right?

Well, not exactly...

I mean I spend definitely alot less as compared to the beginning stages.

But who can resist new stuff?

LOL!

Ah well...forgive my ranting. I'm just overwhelmed!

Maybe I can stop shopping for year 2009.

Let's see if that's a possible new year's resolution!

{Luvin Dad's Shooz}

Just to share a LO I did for a Use-Your-Stash challenge in the Groovie Scraps Cafe for the month of July. It's really well-thought of by Felicia. It requires a minimum of at least 10 chipboard elements, and the more the merrier. Without the following: Other patterned papers, other embellishments. Only cardstock is permitted.
What I used mainly was my Maya Road Chipboard alphas and arrows. I realized that I still have a near boxful of arrow chipboards left!
Anyway, here my take:

Oh yah, I really didn't use any patterned paper, I doodled on the cardstock so that it looked like somesort of patterned paper.
It's a considerably "simple" LO but I had fun creating it. The painting of the chipboards was the slightly time consuming part as well as the doodling on the CS. Let me know if you like it yah?

{Our Angel}

JTS what I did with Scarlet Lime's June Kit with one of Daren's backdated photos from a photoshoot session which I thought went pretty well with the PPs.
It's a simpler LO coz the pic of him is just sooo cute in his angels' wings.

Somethings are a little amiss in the embellisments on the left side of the LO, was thinking maybe I should have inked the edges with black ink or something... then again, I think my eyes and brain need a break from too "complex" a LO. Though I absolutely love to look at LOs with intricate details in them by other talented scrappers =)
Let me know what you think?
Cheers and TFL!

2 LOs to Share

These 2 LOs are long overdue to be shared. I actually scrapped this sometime in April, and left the journalling bits for Dave to journal unto....so after a US work trip and Beijing shooting trip and weeks later, he finally journalled after some pushing =P
Hope it's not too late to share my backdated LOs here.

{Boys Only}
Journalling says for {Boys Only}:
Boxing Day - Today we unwrapped all of your X'mas presents. I must say, I was kinda more excited. I was eager to see you play, which you did. You were so intriqued at how the toy works....well, so was I =) We had fun putting it together... hmmm, think you took it off and I put it back. As always, with luv, Dad

{Follow Your Dreams}

Above journalling is for D's eyes only from his dad =)

{Splashing around Then & Now}

Just to share another LO I did last night. Had fun doing this 2 page LO. Was looking through D's photos and realized that I had two sets of similar photos taken at the Singapore Zoo's Children's World's Playland - Water Play area (that's a mouthful!). The difference: one set was taken when he was at 16 months and the recent set was when he was at 28 months. Thought it'll be nice to compare the babyish-ness of him in the former set and what a toddler he had become since then in the latter set.

Upclose pic of the Then page:

Upclose shot of the Now page:

Papers used are Scenic Routes' PP, MME's title transfers for {Slashing around} and K.I memories' laced cardstock. Used also MR's sheer journalling tags and MM's alpha rub-ons.

{M is for Mine, The 101s of Toddlerhood}

Did this LO within 1 hour. One of the fastest LO ever. It's done for a "Use-up-Your-Stash" Challenge for the month of May at the Groovie Scraps Cafe, where by you have to use ONLY at least 30 rub-ons or stickers for the LO. Ok, I didn't read instructions properly, ended up using some buttons to "complete" the look.

Here goes:
